The remaining barriers to our clean energy future are political. The technology is ready. The economics make sense. Only our political system remains a problem – and it’s deeply distorted by the influence of fossil fuel industry money. It’s time to change that once and for all.

Fossil-fueled climate change is here, and already causing damage and destruction across the United States. The world is in a deep hole with climate – and the first rule of holes is this: When you find yourself in one, it’s time to stop digging. We must stop the fossil fuel industry’s expansion plans and begin a full transition to a clean energy economy. The full transition will take decades, which is why we need to start now.

As Frederick Douglass famously said; “Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never has, and it never will.” This is not the time to demand small tweaks to our energy system – this is the time to demand transformation.
