After merger, ClimateTruth becomes Oil Change USA
WASHINGTON, DC — ClimateTruth.org Action, a project of Oil Change USA, a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, will now officially be known as Oil Change USA.
Both entities worked as partners before ClimateTruth.org Action legally became a project of Oil Change USA in 2017. Now the ClimateTruth brand is being retired but the work of the project will continue under the banner of its parent organization, Oil Change USA.
Oil Change USA will now have even more might in the continuing fight against the polluter-funded denial, distortion, and disinformation that block bold action on climate change, while exposing the true costs of fossil fuels and facilitating the coming transition towards clean energy.
Oil Change USA is dedicated to supporting real climate leadership, exposing the true costs of fossil fuels, and building a just, equitable, and renewable energy future in the United States. The remaining barriers to our clean energy future are political. The technology is ready. The economics make sense. Only our political system remains a problem – and it’s deeply distorted by the influence of fossil fuel industry money. It’s time to change that once and for all.
Oil Change USA is dedicated to resetting the definition of “climate leadership” at all levels, and getting serious about taking on Big Oil, Gas, and Coal. Oil Change USA demands climate leaders who are willing to stand up to the fossil fuel industry by:
- Signing the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge
- Calling for an end to all fossil fuel subsidies
- Opposing new pipelines and other fossil fuel infrastructure
- Supporting a just transition and a Green New Deal
Fossil-fueled climate change is here, and already causing damage and destruction across the United States. The world is in a deep hole with climate – and the first rule of holes is this: When you find yourself in one, it’s time to stop digging.
